北běi风fēng和hé太阳tài yang争论zhēng lùn谁shéi的de本领běn lǐng大dà。

The North Wind and the Sun argued over who was stronger.

这zhè时候shí hou，路上lù shang来lái了liǎo一yī个gè穿chuān大衣dà yī的de人rén。他们tā men约定yuē dìng：谁shéi让ràng他tā脱tuō下xià衣服yī fu，谁shéi就jìu赢yíng。

Just then a traveller came by in a coat. They agreed: whoever made him take it off would win.

北běi风fēng使劲shǐ jìn地dì吹chuī，可是kě shì风fēng越yuè大dà，那nà个人gè rén把bǎ衣服yī fu裹guǒ得děi越yuè紧jǐn。

The North Wind blew with all its might, but the harder it blew, the tighter the man wrapped his coat.

太阳tài yang出来chū lái了liǎo，暖nuǎn暖nuǎn地dì照zhào着zhuó。不一会儿bù yī huì er，那nà个人gè rén就jìu把bǎ外套wài tào脱tuō了liǎo。

Then the Sun came out and shone warmly. Soon the man took off his coat.

温和wēn hé，比bǐ强硬qiáng yìng更gèng有力yǒu lì量liáng。
