甜甜腊八粥

腊月là yuè初chū八bā是shì腊là八bā节jié。这zhè一yì天tiān家jiā家jiā都dōu煮zhǔ腊là八bā粥zhōu。

The eighth day of the twelfth month is Laba Festival, and every family cooks Laba porridge.

粥zhōu里lǐ有yǒu米mǐ、豆子dòu zi、花生huā shēng、红hóng枣zǎo、栗lì子zi，还有hái yǒu莲子lián zǐ和hé桂guì圆yuán，甜tián甜tián的de很hěn香xiāng。

In the pot go rice, beans, peanuts, dates, chestnuts, lotus seeds and longan - sweet and fragrant.

传说chuán shuō佛fó祖zǔ释shì迦jiā牟móu尼ní在zài腊月là yuè初chū八bā这zhè天tiān成chéng佛fó。人们rén men煮zhǔ粥zhōu纪念jì niàn他tā。

It is said the Buddha attained enlightenment on this day, and people cook porridge to remember him.

也yě有人yǒu rén说shuō，喝hē了le腊là八bā粥zhōu，一yì年nián的de辛苦xīn kǔ就算jiù suàn过去guò qù了le，准备zhǔn bèi过年guò nián啦la。

Others say drinking it means the year's hard work is done - time to get ready for New Year.
