汤圆和团圆

正月zhēng yuè十shí五wǔ是shì元宵节yuán xiāo jié，人们rén men看kàn花huā灯dēng、猜cāi灯dēng谜mí，还要hái yào吃chī汤圆tāng yuán。

The fifteenth of the first month is the Lantern Festival. People watch lanterns, guess riddles, and eat tangyuan.

汤圆tāng yuán是shì糯nuò米mǐ做zuò的de小xiǎo圆yuán球qiú，里面lǐ miàn有yǒu芝麻zhī ma馅xiàn或者huò zhě花生huā shēng馅xiàn，甜tián甜tián的de。

Tangyuan are little glutinous-rice balls with sesame or peanut filling - sweet.

「汤圆tāng yuán」听起来tīng qi lai像xiàng「团圆tuán yuán」，就是jiù shì一家人yì jiā rén团tuán团圆tuán yuán圆yuán的de意思yì si。

Tangyuan sounds like tuanyuan, togetherness - a family whole and round.

元宵节yuán xiāo jié是shì过年guò nián的de最后zuì hòu一yì天tiān。吃chī完wán汤圆tāng yuán，年nián就jiù过guò完了wán le，新xīn的de一yì年nián正式zhèng shì开始kāi shǐ。

It is the last day of New Year. After the tangyuan, the year has truly begun.
