Different wording The two terms share 访 in their simplified forms but are different words. In Taiwan the standard term is 訪問; on the Mainland it is 采访 - both point at “to interview (e.g. for a report or feature story)”.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Education dictionaries record 訪問、採訪 for this concept. The Mainland standard is among them - the difference is which form each side makes the default.
訪問 is L3 vocabulary on the TOCFL 华语八千词 list; 采访 is HSK 4 vocabulary on the HSK 3.0 list.
