对牛弹琴

古gǔ时候shí hou，有yǒu一yī个gè叫jiào公gōng明míng仪yí的de人rén，琴qín弹tán得děi非常fēi cháng好hào。

In ancient times a man named Gongming Yi played the qin beautifully.

一yī天tiān，他tā看见kàn jiàn一头yī tóu牛níu在zài吃chī草cǎo，就jìu对duì着zhuó牛níu弹tán了liǎo一yī首shǒu很hěn高雅gāo yǎ的de曲qǔ子zi。

One day he saw an ox grazing and played it a most refined melody.

牛níu理lǐ也yě不理bù lǐ，继续jì xù低头dī tóu吃chī草cǎo。

The ox paid no attention and went on grazing.

不bù是shì牛níu听tīng不bù懂dǒng，是shì他tā弹tán的de曲qǔ子zi不对bù duì。后来hòu lái他tā模仿mó fǎng蚊子wén zi和hé小xiǎo牛níu的de声音shēng yīn，牛níu就jìu竖shù起qǐ耳朵ěr duo听tīng了liǎo。

It was not that the ox could not hear, the music was wrong for it. When he imitated mosquitoes and calves, the ox pricked up its ears.
