指鹿为马

赵zhào高gāo想xiǎng造反zào fǎn，想xiǎng知道zhī dào哪些nǎ xiē大臣dà chén会huì听tīng他tā的话de huà。

Zhao Gao planned a coup and wanted to know which ministers would obey him.

他tā牵qiān来lái一yī只zhī鹿lù，献xiàn给gěi皇帝huáng dì，说shuō：这zhè是shì一yī匹pǐ马mǎ。

He led in a deer, presented it to the emperor, and said: 'This is a horse.'

皇帝huáng dì笑xiào了liǎo：丞chéng相xiāng搞gǎo错cuò了liǎo，把bǎ鹿lù说shuō成chéng马mǎ。

The emperor laughed: 'The chancellor is mistaken - he calls a deer a horse.'

赵zhào高gāo问wèn大臣dà chén们men。害怕hài pà他tā的de人rén都dōu说shuō：是shì马mǎ。说实话shuō shí huà的de人rén，后来hòu lái都dōu被bèi他tā害hài死sǐ了liǎo。

Zhao Gao asked the ministers. Those who feared him all said: 'A horse.' Those who spoke the truth were later put to death by him.
