Different wording The two terms share 库 in their simplified forms but are different words. In Taiwan the standard term is 資料庫; on the Mainland it is 数据库 - both point at “database”.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Education dictionaries record 資料庫、數據庫 for this concept. The Mainland standard is among them - the difference is which form each side makes the default.
数据库 is HSK 7-9 vocabulary on the HSK 3.0 list.
