Preferred written form The two preferred forms differ by a single character. In Taiwan the standard term is 數位; on the Mainland it is 数码 - both point at “digital”.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Education dictionaries record 數位、數碼 for this concept. The Mainland standard is among them - the difference is which form each side makes the default.
数码 is HSK 4 vocabulary on the HSK 3.0 list.
