草船借箭

周zhōu瑜yú要yào诸zhū葛gé亮liàng十shí天tiān造zào十shí万wàn支zhī箭jiàn，想xiǎng难nán倒dào他tā。诸zhū葛gé亮liàng说shuō：三sān天tiān就jìu够gòu了liǎo。

Zhou Yu challenged Zhuge Liang to make 100,000 arrows in ten days. He said: give me three.

第dì三sān天tiān夜里yè li大dà雾wù，诸zhū葛gé亮liàng叫jiào士兵shì bīng在zài船chuán上shàng绑bǎng满mǎn草cǎo人rén，把bǎ船chuán开kāi到dào曹cáo操cāo水shuǐ寨zhài前面qián miàn擂léi鼓gǔ呐喊nà hǎn。

On the third night's heavy fog he sent boats padded with straw men toward Cao Cao's camp, drums thundering.

曹cáo军jūn看kān不bù清qīng，不bù敢gǎn出来chū lái，只zhī往wǎng雾wù里lǐ放fàng箭jiàn。箭jiàn都dōu射shè在zài草cǎo人rén上shàng。

Blind in the fog, Cao's men dared not come out and loosed arrows — all into the straw.

天tiān亮liàng以后yǐ hòu，二èr十shí条tiáo船chuán带dài回来huí lai十shí万wàn多duō支zhī箭jiàn。周zhōu瑜yú说shuō：我wǒ不如bù rú他tā。

At dawn, twenty boats returned with over a hundred thousand arrows. Zhou Yu sighed: I am not his equal.
