邯郸学步

燕yàn国有guó yǒu一yī个gè年轻nián qīng人rén，家里jiā lǐ很hěn富有fù yǒu，但是dàn shì没有méi yǒu本事běn shi。

In the state of Yan lived a young man whose family was wealthy but who had no real ability.

他tā听说tīng shuō赵zhào国guó邯hán郸dān人rén走路zǒu lù的de样子yàng zi特别tè bié美měi，就jìu千qiān里lǐ迢tiáo迢tiáo跑pǎo去qù学xué。

He heard that the people of Handan in Zhao walked with an especially graceful gait, so he travelled a thousand miles to learn it.

他tā学xué了liǎo几jǐ个gè月yuè，不但bù dàn没有méi yǒu学会xué huì邯hán郸dān人rén走路zǒu lù，还huán忘wàng了liǎo自己zì jǐ原来yuán lái怎么zěn me走路zǒu lù。

After months he had not only failed to learn the Handan walk, he had forgotten how he himself used to walk.

最后zuì hòu，他tā只好zhǐ hǎo爬pá着zhuó回去huí qu了liǎo。

In the end, he had to crawl home.
