鲁班学艺

鲁lǔ班bān年轻nián qīng时shí要yào拜bài名míng师shī学艺xué yì，走zǒu了le三sān个gè月yuè，翻fān过guò三sān座zuò大dà山shān，才cái到dào了le终zhōng南nán山shān。

Young Lu Ban walked three months over three ranges to study under the master of Zhongnan.

师傅shī fu先xiān不bù收shōu他tā，让ràng他tā把bǎ所有suǒ yǒu的de工具gōng jù都dōu磨mó一yí遍biàn。鲁lǔ班bān磨mó了le七qī天tiān七qī夜yè，斧子fǔ zi、凿záo子zǐ、刨páo子zǐ全quán磨mó得de雪xuě亮liàng。

The master first had him sharpen every tool, seven days and nights until axes, chisels and planes shone.

师傅shī fu又yòu让ràng他tā砍kǎn一yì棵kē五wǔ百bǎi年nián大dà树shù、凿záo两liǎng千qiān四sì百bǎi个gè孔kǒng、做zuò各种gè zhǒng模型mó xíng，鲁lǔ班bān一样yí yàng一样yí yàng都dōu做zuò成chéng了le。

Then felling a five-hundred-year tree, boring 2,400 holes, making model after model, each done.

师傅shī fu这zhè才cái把bǎ全quán套tào本事běn shi教jiāo给gěi他tā。鲁lǔ班bān学xué成chéng下山xià shān，成chéng了le一代yí dài祖zǔ师shī。学艺xué yì先xiān学xué苦kǔ功gōng。

Only then was he taught the whole craft. He descended the mountain to become the patron saint of builders, craft begins in hard work.
