望梅止渴

曹cáo操cāo带dài兵bīng打仗dǎ zhàng，走zǒu了liǎo很hěn远yuǎn的de路lù，士兵shì bīng们men又yòu渴kě又yòu累lèi，走zǒu不bù动dòng了liǎo。

Cao Cao led his army on a long march; the soldiers were thirsty and exhausted and could go no further.

曹cáo操cāo想xiǎng了liǎo一yī个gè办法bàn fǎ。他tā大声dà shēng说shuō：前面qián miàn有yǒu一yī大片dà piàn梅méi林lín，树shù上shàng结jiē满mǎn了liǎo又yòu酸suān又yòu甜tián的de梅méi子zi！

Cao Cao had an idea. He called out: 'Ahead lies a great plum grove, laden with plums, sour and sweet!'

士兵shì bīng们men想到xiǎng dào梅méi子zi的de酸suān味wèi，口水kǒu shuǐ都dōu流líu出来chū lái了liǎo，忘记wàng jì了liǎo口kǒu渴kě，加快jiā kuài脚步jiǎo bù往wǎng前qián走zǒu。

At the thought of sour plums the soldiers' mouths watered; they forgot their thirst and quickened their pace.

终于zhōng yú，他们tā men走zǒu到dào了liǎo有yǒu水shuǐ的de地方dì fāng。

At last they reached water.
