叶公好龙

叶yè公gōng非常fēi cháng喜欢xǐ huan龙lóng。他tā的de衣服yī fu上shàng绣xìu着zhuó龙lóng，柱子zhù zi上shàng刻kè着zhuó龙lóng，墙qiáng上shàng画huà着zhuó龙lóng。

Lord Ye loved dragons: dragons on his clothes, dragons carved on his pillars, dragons painted on his walls.

天上tiān shàng的de真zhēn龙lóng听说tīng shuō了liǎo，就jìu来到lái dào叶yè公gōng家里jiā lǐ，把bǎ头tóu伸shēn进jìn窗户chuāng hu。

A real dragon in heaven heard of it and came to his house, putting its head through the window.

叶yè公gōng一yī看kān是shì真zhēn龙lóng，吓xià得děi脸色liǎn sè发fā白bái，转身zhuǎn shēn就jìu跑pǎo。

At the sight of a real dragon, Lord Ye turned pale and fled.

他tā喜欢xǐ huan的de不bù是shì真zhēn龙lóng，而是ér shì像xiàng龙lóng又yòu不bù是shì龙lóng的de东西dōng xi。

What he loved was not the dragon, but things that looked like dragons.
