流水liú shuǐ下xià滩tān非fēi有意yǒu yì，白bái云yún出chū岫xiù本běn无wú心xīn。当时dāng shí若ruò不bù登dēng高gāo望wàng，谁shéi信xìn东dōng流liú海洋hǎi yáng深shēn。

Water down the rapids means nothing; clouds leaving the cave have no intent, without climbing high to see, who'd believe the eastward waters reach a sea that deep?

路lù遥yáo知zhī马力mǎ lì，日rì久jiǔ见jiàn人心rén xīn。两liǎng人rén一般yì bān心xīn，有钱yǒu qián堪kān买mǎi金jīn；一yì人rén一般yì bān心xīn，无wú钱qián堪kān买mǎi针zhēn。

A long road tests a horse's strength; long days reveal a heart, two hearts beating as one can buy gold; a heart alone can't buy a pin.
