人之初

人rén之zhī初chū，性xìng本běn善shàn。性xìng相xiāng近jìn，习xí相xiāng远yuǎn。

At birth, man's nature is good. Our natures are alike; our habits pull us apart.

苟gǒu不bù教jiāo，性xìng乃nǎi迁qiān。教jiāo之zhī道dào，贵guì以yǐ专zhuān。

Without teaching, nature drifts. The way of teaching is single-mindedness.

人rén刚gāng生shēng下来xià lai本性běn xìng都dōu是shì善良shàn liáng的de，大家dà jiā的de本性běn xìng差不多chà bu duō——可是kě shì习惯xí guàn把bǎ人rén越yuè拉lā越yuè远yuǎn。不bù教育jiào yù，本性běn xìng就jìu变biàn。教育jiào yù的de办法bàn fǎ，贵guì在zài专心zhuān xīn。

All babies start good — it's habit, not nature, that divides us. Teaching demands focus.
