百鸟衣

古gǔ时候shí hou，一yí位wèi手艺shǒu yì人rén的de妻子qī zi被bèi国王guó wáng抢qiǎng进jìn了le王wáng宫gōng。她tā托tuō人rén捎shāo话huà给gěi丈夫zhàng fu：用yòng百bǎi鸟niǎo的de羽yǔ毛máo做zuò件jiàn衣裳yī shang，穿上chuān shang到dào宫gōng门mén前qián唱歌chàng gē。

Long ago a craftsman's wife was carried off to the king's palace. She sent her husband word: make a coat of a hundred birds' feathers, wear it, and sing before the palace gate.

丈夫zhàng fu走zǒu了le一yì百bǎi天tiān，收集shōu jí了le一yì百bǎi种zhǒng鸟niǎo的de羽yǔ毛máo，缝féng成chéng一yí件jiàn五wǔ彩cǎi的de百bǎi鸟niǎo衣yī。

He walked a hundred days, gathered feathers from a hundred kinds of birds, and sewed a coat of many colors.

他tā穿着chuān zhuó百bǎi鸟niǎo衣yī在zài宫gōng前qián唱歌chàng gē跳舞tiào wǔ。国王guó wáng看kàn了le稀奇xī qí，要yào拿ná龙lóng袍páo跟gēn他tā换huàn。

In it he sang and danced before the palace. The king found it a marvel and wanted to trade his dragon robe for it.

国王guó wáng换huàn上shàng百bǎi鸟niǎo衣yī，卫wèi兵bīng们men把bǎ这zhè个gè「唱chàng戏xì的de」赶gǎn出chū宫gōng去qù。手艺shǒu yì人rén和hé妻子qī zi重新chóng xīn团圆tuán yuán，再也zài yě没有méi yǒu人rén敢gǎn来lái抢qiǎng。

The moment the king wore the feathers, the guards chased the 'song-and-dance man' out of the palace - and the craftsman and his wife were together again, never to be parted.
