第一场大雪

南方nán fāng的de孩子hái zi林lín月yuè从来cóng lái没有méi yǒu见过jiàn guò雪xuě。今年jīn nián冬天dōng tiān，她tā跟gēn着zhuó爸bà爸bà妈mā妈mā去qù哈hā尔ěr滨bīn看kān姥姥lǎo lao。

Lin Yue, a child from the south, had never seen snow. This winter she went with her parents to Harbin to visit her grandma.

火车huǒ chē越yuè往wǎng北běi开kāi，窗chuāng外wài越yuè白bái。到dào了liǎo哈hā尔ěr滨bīn，地上dì shang的de雪xuě已经yǐ jīng有yǒu半bàn尺chǐ厚hòu了liǎo。

The further north the train went, the whiter the window. In Harbin the snow lay half a foot deep.

第dì二èr天tiān早上zǎo shang，林lín月yuè一yī睁zhēng眼yǎn就jìu往wǎng窗chuāng外wài看kān。夜里yè li又yòu下xià了liǎo大dà雪xuě，屋顶wū dǐng上shàng、树shù上shàng、车上chē shàng，全都quán dōu是shì白bái的de。

The next morning she opened her eyes and looked out at once. It had snowed again overnight: roofs, trees, cars, all white.

姥姥lǎo lao给gěi她tā穿上chuān shang厚hòu厚hòu的de羽绒服yǔ róng fú，带dài她tā出门chū mén。林lín月yuè一yī脚jiǎo踩cǎi下去xià qù，雪xuě发出fā chū咯gē吱zhī咯gē吱zhī的de声音shēng yīn，她tā笑xiào得děi停tíng不下bù xià来lái。

Grandma put her in a thick down coat and took her out. At her first step the snow squeaked, and she could not stop laughing.

她tā和hé姥姥lǎo lao一起yī qǐ堆duī了liǎo一yī个gè大dà雪人xuě rén，用yòng胡hú萝卜luó bo做zuò鼻子bí zi，用yòng两liǎng个gè瓶píng盖gài做zuò眼睛yǎn jing。

She and Grandma built a big snowman, with a carrot nose and two bottle-cap eyes.

手shǒu冻dòng得děi红hóng红hóng的de，她tā也yě不肯bù kěn进jìn屋wū。姥姥lǎo lao说shuō：你nǐ这zhè孩子hái zi，比bǐ北方běi fāng的de孩子hái zi还huán爱ài玩wán雪xuě。

Her hands froze red, but she refused to go inside. Grandma said: you love snow more than northern children do.

下午xià wǔ，姥姥lǎo lao带dài她tā去qù看kān冰bīng灯dēng。到dào了liǎo晚上wǎn shang，一yī块kuài块kuài大dà冰bīng里lǐ透tòu出chū五颜六色wǔ yán lìu sè的de光guāng，像xiàng童话tóng huà里lǐ的de城chéng堡bǎo。

In the afternoon Grandma took her to the ice lanterns. At night, colored light shone through the great blocks of ice like a fairy-tale castle.

姥姥lǎo lao告诉gào su林lín月yuè，哈hā尔ěr滨bīn的de冬天dōng tiān最zuì冷lěng能néng到dào零下líng xià三sān十shí度dù。林lín月yuè吓xià了liǎo一yī跳tiào：那nà你们nǐ men冬天dōng tiān怎么zěn me出门chū mén啊ā？姥姥lǎo lao笑xiào了liǎo：穿chuān厚hòu一yī点diǎn就jìu行háng了liǎo。

Grandma told Lin Yue that Harbin winters can reach thirty below. Lin Yue gasped: how do you go outside? Grandma laughed: dress thicker.

在zài哈hā尔ěr滨bīn的de几jǐ天tiān，她tā还huán吃chī了liǎo冰bīng棍gùn。零下líng xià二èr十shí度dù的de天气tiān qì里lǐ吃chī冰bīng棍gùn，是shì北方běi fāng孩子hái zi才cái知道zhī dào的de快乐kuài lè。

During her days in Harbin she even ate an ice pop. Eating ice pops at twenty below is a joy only northern children know.

林lín月yuè拉lā着zhuó姥姥lǎo lao的de手shǒu说shuō：我wǒ以前yǐ qián只zhī在zài电视diàn shì里lǐ看kān过guo雪xuě。原来yuán lái真的zhēn de雪xuě，比bǐ电视diàn shì里lǐ的de美měi一yī百bǎi倍bèi。

Lin Yue held Grandma's hand: I had only seen snow on TV. Real snow is a hundred times more beautiful.
