刻舟求剑

一yī个人gè rén坐zuò船chuán过guo河hé，他tā的de剑jiàn掉diào到dào水shuǐ里lǐ了liǎo。

A man was crossing a river by boat when his sword fell into the water.

他tā不bù着急zháo jí，拿出ná chū一yī把bǎ小xiǎo刀dāo，在zài船chuán边biān上shàng刻kè了liǎo一yī个gè记号jì hao。

Unhurried, he took out a small knife and carved a mark on the side of the boat.

他tā说shuō：我wǒ的de剑jiàn就是jìu shì从cóng这里zhè lǐ掉diào下去xià qù的de，等děng船chuán靠kào岸àn，我wǒ从cóng记号jì hao这里zhè lǐ下去xià qù找zhǎo。

He said: my sword fell in right here; when the boat docks, I will search from this mark.

船chuán到dào了liǎo岸àn边biān，他tā从cóng记号jì hao的de地方dì fāng跳tiào进jìn水shuǐ里lǐ，找zhǎo了liǎo很hěn久jǐu，什么shén me也yě没méi找到zhǎo dào。

When the boat reached the shore he jumped in at the mark and searched a long time, finding nothing.

船chuán在zài走zǒu，可是kě shì剑jiàn不bù会huì跟gēn着zhuó船chuán走zǒu。用yòng老lǎo办法bàn fǎ看kān新xīn问题wèn tí，是shì找zhǎo不到bù dào答案dá àn的de。

The boat moves on, but the sword does not follow it. Old methods cannot solve new problems.
