孔融让梨

孔kǒng融róng四sì岁suì的de时候shí hou，有yǒu一yī天tiān，家里jiā lǐ吃chī梨lí。

When Kong Rong was four, the family was eating pears one day.

父亲fù qīn让ràng孔kǒng融róng先xiān拿ná。孔kǒng融róng拿ná了liǎo一yī个gè最zuì小xiǎo的de梨lí。

His father let him take one first. Kong Rong chose the smallest.

父亲fù qīn问wèn他tā：你nǐ为什么wèi shén me拿ná最zuì小xiǎo的de？

'Why the smallest?' his father asked.

孔kǒng融róng说shuō：我wǒ年纪nián jì小xiǎo，应该yīng gāi吃chī小xiǎo的de；大dà的de留líu给gěi哥gē哥gē们men吃chī。

'I'm little, so I should eat a little one; the big ones are for my older brothers.'

父亲fù qīn又yòu问wèn：那nà弟dì弟dì比bǐ你nǐ还huán小xiǎo呢ne？孔kǒng融róng说shuō：我wǒ是shì哥gē哥gē，应该yīng gāi让ràng着zhuó弟dì弟dì。

'But your younger brother is smaller still?' 'I'm his elder brother, I should yield to him.'
