鹬蚌相争

一yì只zhī河hé蚌bàng张开zhāng kāi壳qiào晒太阳shài tài yáng，鹬yù鸟niǎo飞fēi下来xià lai啄zhuó它tā的de肉ròu。

A clam lay open sunning on the shore; a snipe swooped down to peck its flesh.

河hé蚌bàng一yì合hé壳qiào，把bǎ鹬yù鸟niǎo的de嘴zuǐ夹jiā住zhù了le。

The clam snapped shut on the snipe's beak.

鹬yù说shuō：今天jīn tiān不下bú xià雨yǔ，明天míng tiān不下bú xià雨yǔ，你nǐ就jiù干gàn死sǐ了le。蚌bàng说shuō：我wǒ今天jīn tiān不bú放fàng你nǐ，明天míng tiān不bú放fàng你nǐ，你nǐ就jiù饿è死sǐ了le。

The snipe said: no rain today, no rain tomorrow, you'll dry out and die. The clam said: no release today or tomorrow, you'll starve.

两liǎng个gè谁shéi也yě不bú让ràng。一yí个gè渔yú夫fū走过zǒu guò来lái，把bǎ它们tā men一起yì qǐ捉zhuō走zǒu了le。

Neither let go. A fisherman came along and took them both.
